Here’s what to know. This guide explains the type of work and why it can be needed. It is not a remote diagnosis or a do-it-yourself wiring tutorial.
What does this involve?
Installing heavy-duty, clean outdoor bistro lighting with weather-sealed junction connections.
How does it work?
Permanent bistro lighting is different from hanging a plug-in seasonal strand. Supports, wiring, weather exposure, and electrical protection all need planning.
What affects the job?
Not every string-light product is approved for permanent hardwiring. We would check product instructions and safe mounting before discussing the job.
What should you tell us?
A photo of the fixture and where it would go, ceiling height, and whether there is already a working light or fan there. You do not need to know the electrical terms. Tell us what you see and what you want to change.
Keep safety in mind
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s home electrical checklist explains common warning signs. For generator-related jobs, see the Electrical Safety Foundation International’s generator guidance. Any code or permit decision needs to be checked for the actual property.
Is this what you need help with?
Tell us a little about your project and where you're located. We'll confirm whether it's a job we can take on and explain the next step.
