Here’s what to know. This guide explains the type of work and why it can be needed. It is not a remote diagnosis or a do-it-yourself wiring tutorial.
What might be happening?
Digging out and liquid-tight splicing direct burial lines chewed by lawnmowers.
How does it work?
Buried landscape-lighting cables can corrode after water enters damaged insulation or connections. Lawn tools, soil movement, and animals can also break the line.
What affects the job?
A proper repair depends on the cable type and approved outdoor connectors. We would look at where lights fail and whether the transformer is working.
What should you tell us?
What stopped working, when it happens, and any noises, heat, smells, or visible damage. Do not attempt to recreate a fault for a photo. You do not need to know the electrical terms. Tell us what you see and what you want to change.
Keep safety in mind
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s home electrical checklist explains common warning signs. For generator-related jobs, see the Electrical Safety Foundation International’s generator guidance. Any code or permit decision needs to be checked for the actual property.
Is this what you need help with?
Tell us a little about your project and where you're located. We'll confirm whether it's a job we can take on and explain the next step.
