Here’s what to know. This guide explains the type of work and why it can be needed. It is not a remote diagnosis or a do-it-yourself wiring tutorial.
What does this involve?
Installing dedicated under-sink power or hardwiring kitchen disposal units.
How does it work?
A disposal motor needs a suitable electrical supply and a convenient switching method. A failed disposal can also be a plumbing or mechanical issue.
What affects the job?
The device nameplate, under-sink moisture, wiring, and switch location matter. We handle only the electrical part of the job when appropriate.
What should you tell us?
The appliance brand and model, existing wiring or outlet location, and whether another trade is already working on the project. You do not need to know the electrical terms. Tell us what you see and what you want to change.
Keep safety in mind
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s home electrical checklist explains common warning signs. For generator-related jobs, see the Electrical Safety Foundation International’s generator guidance. Any code or permit decision needs to be checked for the actual property.
Is this what you need help with?
Tell us a little about your project and where you're located. We'll confirm whether it's a job we can take on and explain the next step.
