Here’s what to know. This guide explains the type of work and why it can be needed. It is not a remote diagnosis or a do-it-yourself wiring tutorial.
What does this involve?
Safe electrical power and low-voltage planning for wall-mounted TVs.
How does it work?
A TV setup may need power at the screen and separate low-voltage signal paths. Power cords generally should not be hidden loose inside a wall.
What affects the job?
In-wall cable ratings, proper power outlets, wall access, and mounting loads matter. Screen mounting itself may be a separate trade service.
What should you tell us?
The brand and model of your device, what it needs to connect to, and photos of the nearby power location. You do not need to know the electrical terms. Tell us what you see and what you want to change.
Keep safety in mind
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s home electrical checklist explains common warning signs. For generator-related jobs, see the Electrical Safety Foundation International’s generator guidance. Any code or permit decision needs to be checked for the actual property.
Is this what you need help with?
Tell us a little about your project and where you're located. We'll confirm whether it's a job we can take on and explain the next step.
