Here’s what to know. This guide explains the type of work and why it can be needed. It is not a remote diagnosis or a do-it-yourself wiring tutorial.
What does this involve?
Installing adjustable directional lighting for art, hallways, or modern spaces.
How does it work?
Track lights use one mounted track to supply and aim several light heads. Track components are not always interchangeable across brands.
What affects the job?
Layout, ceiling condition, and compatibility determine whether a track can replace a current fixture or needs new electrical work.
What should you tell us?
A photo of the fixture and where it would go, ceiling height, and whether there is already a working light or fan there. You do not need to know the electrical terms. Tell us what you see and what you want to change.
Keep safety in mind
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s home electrical checklist explains common warning signs. For generator-related jobs, see the Electrical Safety Foundation International’s generator guidance. Any code or permit decision needs to be checked for the actual property.
Is this what you need help with?
Tell us a little about your project and where you're located. We'll confirm whether it's a job we can take on and explain the next step.
